Descripción

Arthur Miller's The Crucible opened in New York on 22 January 1953. He used the story of the Salem witch hysteria and trials as a parable for critiquing anti-Communist activity in the early Cold War, in particular the Red Scares in Hollywood and in politics (also known as McCarthyism).
