1) He was elected as Chief Minister of UP in November 1973, and resigned in 1975.  he was forced to resign by Prime minister Indira Gandhi, in 1975
2) In 1977, Bhaguna left the ruling Congress Party, and formed a new group called Congress for Democratic (CFD).
3) The CFD joined the Janata alliance. Victory of Janata alliance, he bacame the finance minister in 1979.

He became the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh for 3 days from 21 February 1998 to 23 February 1998 when Governor of UP Romesh Bhandari dismissed Kalyan Singh government but was restored after courts order.

1989 to 1991 : After the collapse of the V P Singh government at the centre in November 1990, Yadav joined Janata Dal (Socialist) party and continued in office as chief minister with the support of the Congress Party. His government fell when the Congress withdrew support to his government in April 1991.
1993 to 1995 : In 1992, Yadav founded his own Samajwadi Party (Socialist Party). In 1993, he allied with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) for the elections to Uttar Pradesh

Rajnath Singh
In 2000, he became Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and was twice elected as MLA from Haidegarh in 2001 and 2002.

Rajnath shined as a politician after he was made the state party president on March 25, 1997. When Mayawati withdrew support from the BJP on October 19, 1997, it was squarely Rajnath Singh who came to the rescue of the Kalyan Singh government. 
After the BJP lost power in the 2004 general election, was forced to sit in the Opposition.

Ram Naresh Yadav
He was the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh from 23 June 1977 until 28 February 1979. On 23rd February, he failed to secure a Vote of Confidence. Benarsi Das was elected in his place and became the chief minister.

He was from Janata party; later he joined Congress.

He served as Chief Minister of UP from 1999 to 2000.

The Chief Minister, Kalyan Singh, became embroiled in several controversies and was blamed for poor performance of the party in the Lok Sabha Elections in 1999. As a result, the party's leadership chose Gupta over other contenders.

In less than a year, Gupta ran into trouble when the party performed poorly in local body elections in the state and many called for his removal, which led to his replacement by Rajnath Singh on 8 October 2000.

Following a political crisis in Uttar Pradesh initiated by Kamlapati Tripathi and Chandra Bhanu Gupta  Dr Sampurnanand was asked to resign as Chief Minister and sent to Rajasthan as the Gover nor of Rajasthan.

In October 1970, Sanyukta Vikas Dal was formed by Organization Congress, Jan Sangh and Swatantra Party and Bhartiya Kranti Dal, thus gaining majority in Uttar Pradesh house Assembly. They selected T. N. Singh of Congress (O) to be their leader and thus he became Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

T.N. Singh, became the first Chief Minister to be appointed without being a member of either house of the state legislature.

Vishwanath Pratap Singh was appointed by Indira Gandhi as the Chief Minister of UP in 1980, when Gandhi was re-elected after the Janata interlude.

He served his CM office till 1982. After he resigned as the CM, he was again inducted as the commerce minister in 1983.
