AB Inbev-SABMiller-Bavaria Multinacional

SABMiller

Abt Associates Lobby Abolicionista
To fill the gap, Abt developed an overview of anti-demand tactics to give practitioners information about the more than 900 local tactics, including:

  • A john school that cut the re-arrest rate 40 percent
  • Reverse stings, where cops pose as prostitutes on the street or in brothels
  • Auto seizures and driver’s license suspensions
  • Survivor-led organizations in more than 100 cities that help generate greater public awareness about sexual exploitation
  • Research and development to enhance action and accountability
The Results
Abt’s study found that approaches to expand use of demand-reduction tactics could include training and technical assistance, peer networks, conferencing and web-based solutions. The study led to the creation of a website, https://demand-forum.org/, to inform practitioners about the range of models and programs implemented, problems faced and how to fix them.

Apne Aap’
the twenty-two founding women have since passed away from hunger, suicide, and AIDS-related complications, Apne Aap’s work continues. Self-empowerment groups across the country meet at Apne Aap community centers. These centers remain safe spaces where women and girls can gather, access education, improve their livelihood options and receive legal rights training. Today, Apne Aap’s work reaches over 21,000 women and girls, and continues to work toward making the vision of the founding twenty-two women a reality.

Vision: A world in which no woman or girl is bought or sold
Our vision is a world where every woman and girl can realize her full potential.
Mission: To end sex trafficking
Our mission is to increase choices for at-risk girls and women in order to ensure access to their rights, and to deter the purchase of sex through policy and social change.

Theory of Change: Inspired by the Gandhian vision of Ahimsa (Non-Violence) and Antyodaya (uplift of the Last)

We dismantle the system of prostitution by:

  1. Increasing choices for the last (weakest and most marginalized) girls and women from red light areas and caste communities suffering from inter-generational prostitution by helping them access education, citizenship documents, government subsidies, livelihood skills, health care, legal protection, and friendship circles.
  2. Deterring the purchase of sex through policy and social change.

CAASE
CAASE works with elected officials, public-opinion shapers and allies to improve our community’s response to sexual exploitation. We promote policy and advocacy reforms that will hold perpetrators of sexual harm accountable and create resources for survivors of prostitution, sex trafficking and sexual assault.
End Demand Illinois (EDI) is a multi-year, statewide campaign to transform our community's response to prostitution.
EDI is working to end the routine arrest and re-arrest of women and girls in prostitution and instead proposes a statewide system of supportive services for survivors of the sex trade. In addition, EDI advocates for new tools and resources to allow law enforcement to begin arresting, charging, and prosecuting pimps, traffickers, and customers who create the demand for the sex trade. Illinois is receiving national attention for these innovative approaches.
Survivors of Sexual Violence Deserve Options As They Seek Justice
Certainly many survivors want the criminal system to hold their perpetrators accountable for their crimes, and are devasted by the criminal system’s frequent refusal to do so. Survivors also share that their attempts to use the criminal system to hold perpetrators accountable is re-traumatizing because they are not believed, blamed, or simply ignored. However, many survivors also voice a desire for alternatives to the criminal system. Since most sexual assault occurs between people who know one another, some survivors may not want to see the person in jail. Others may want the perpetrator to receive treatment, or do community service. Mostly, survivors say that want something done so he doesn’t hurt anyone else. Our CAASE policy team works with survivor leaders and policy makers to propose improved responses to sexual violence.

Cherie Jimenez Influencer
Cherie Jimenez, an activist and survivor, has devoted many years to political activism. She was first engaged in the feminist movement of the 1970’s prior to her complete descent into sexual exploitation and drug addiction. It was in 1976 that she co-founded one of the first domestic violence shelters in the US as a result of her own experiences as a teen mother. She was also one of the organizers of the Women Support Women March; one of the first marches and rallies in Boston addressing violence against women, held at City Hall plaza during the summer of 1976. She remembers, during this time, when prostitution was presented as a celebratory and legitimate form of work, soon realizing later on how it served to not only sustain women’s unequal status but masked the horrific harm and violence that is endemic to it.
Ms. Jimenez eventually exited prostitution in 1990, furthering her education and eventually acquiring a degree in Management from U Mass Boston, which provided the skills and a better foundation to return to social activism. She founded the EVA Center (Education, Vision and Advocacy), a specialized exit program for trafficked and prostituted women.

http://www.eracoalition.org/team.php
We support and help lead the movement for passage of an equal rights amendment through public education and messaging campaigns. Our polling research shows that while 94% of Americans support constitutional equality for women and men, 80% mistakenly think it already exists. The ERA Coalition is working to close this information gap.

The ERA Coalition works with its partner organizations to provide a strong forum for all voices advocating for passage of an equal rights amendment. The Coalition actively seeks to broaden the constituencies working for such a constitutional amendment by growing a strong national, inclusive and multi-generational movement to advance this mission.

The ERA Coalition works closely with the lead sponsors of Equal Rights Amendment legislation to lobby Congress to take action and provides educational tools, advocacy training and resources to encourage constituency outreach and educate our supporters on the importance of meeting with their members of Congress.

The ERA Coalition supports all legislative strategies that aim to increase constitutional protections against discrimination. In the 115th Congress, Congresswoman Maloney has introduced language that combines the 1972 language with wording similar to Alice Paul’s first draft, adding the word “women” to the Constitution. Senator Menendez has introduced legislation that is identical to the 1972 language. Congresswoman Jackie Speier (CA) and Senator Ben Cardin (MD) have introduced companion bills to remove the deadline on the 1972 Equal Rights Amendment.

More recently, the ERA Coalition has been working with legal scholars, advocates and advisors about expanding the scope of protections covered under an amendment for constitutional equality to include sex (including pregnancy, gender identity and sexual orientation), race (including ethnicity, national origin and color) and other like forms of discrimination (such as disability or faith). To see the latest draft of this text (not yet introduced) please click on this link.

Mission & History
On a sunny June day in 1987, Anne told me about her vision for the Global Fund for Women...To this day, my contribution as a founding donor to the Global Fund for Women remains the best $5,000 I have ever spent.
—Esther B. Hewlett, former Board Member, Global Fund for Women
RIGHTS FROM THE START
Our Vision
Every woman and girl is strong, safe, powerful, and heard. No exceptions.
Our Mission
We are a global champion for the human rights of women and girls. We use our powerful networks to find, fund, and amplify the courageous work of women who are building social movements and challenging the status quo. By shining a spotlight on critical issues, we rally communities of advocates who take action and invest money to empower women.
History
Global Fund for Women was founded in 1987 in Palo Alto, California, by four bold women: Anne Firth Murray, Frances Kissling, Laura Lederer, and Nita Barrow. They were convinced that women’s human rights were essential to social, economic, and political change around the world, for the benefit of us all. Frustrated by a lack of interest in funding women’s human rights, they founded an organization to fund grass-roots women-led movements directly. They knew that by trusting their grantee partners to tackle the problems they were uniquely qualified to solve, permanent change would happen. They were right.

John Miller Influencer
John Ripin Miller Republican Politician
(May 23, 1938 – October 4, 2017) was an American politician, who was a member of the United States House of Representatives from 1985 to 1993. He represented the 1st congressional district of Washington as a Republican.
While in Congress he championed human rights in the Soviet Union, China and South Africa.
Miller received his LL.B. from Yale Law School and an MA in Economics from Yale Graduate School in 1964. He graduated with a BA from Bucknell University in 1959 and served as an Army Infantry officer on active duty in 1960 and later in the U.S. Army Reserves.
Miller did not run for re-election in 1992. Prior to being elected congressman, he was active in state and municipal governments, serving as assistant attorney general for Washington; vice president and legal counsel for the Washington Environmental Council; and Seattle City Councilman (1972–1979). Miller's first campaign for the City Council was tied to saving the Pike Place Market and while on the Council he oversaw the rehabilitation of the Market.
He founded Seattle's urban P-Patch program, a gardening allotment program that was first of its kind in the nation which includes at least 90 sites as of 2016.
Miller led the Council in rejecting Seattle's entry into Washington Public Power Supply System nuclear plants 4 and 5 which later went bankrupt, and unsuccessfully sought the demolition of the Alaska Way Viaduct separating Seattle's downtown from its waterfront.

Miller served as the director, Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons for the U.S. State Department, with the rank of Ambassador-at-Large, starting in 2002. He sought to increase public awareness of modern-day slavery and nurture a worldwide abolitionist movement with the United States in the lead.
Miller resigned effective December 15, 2006, to join the faculty of George Washington University. He later taught at Yale University and was named a Visiting Scholar at the Institute for Governmental Studies at the University of California, Berkeley.
Miller served as a distinguished senior fellow in international affairs and human rights with the Discovery Institute. Prior to his time at State, he had served as the chair of the Institute, and was an English teacher at Northwest Yeshiva High School in Mercer Island, Washington.
On October 4, 2017, Miller died in Corte Madera, California from cancer at the age of 79.[1]

Polaris Project Lobby Trata-Trafficking
Polaris designs and implements data-driven strategies to prevent and disrupt human trafficking, and restore freedom to survivors.  Achieving this ambitious goal requires both trafficking-specific systemic interventions and broader cultural and structural shifts that reduce the inequities that lead to human trafficking. While Polaris alone cannot build a more diverse, just, equitable, and inclusive society, both the success of our work and our organizational values require modeling in the workplace the change we want to see in the world.

This means cultivating a workforce, organizational culture, and priorities that respect and celebrate a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team made up of individuals with different identities, lived experiences, and backgrounds. Within both our team and across every part of our work, we strive to integrate and elevate the full range of survivor voices.
This is a living commitment.  Diversity, equity, and inclusion are values to be manifested daily, in the work we do, the decisions we make, and the way that we treat each other and the people we seek to serve.  This means creating space where staff can be included, heard, valued, and set up for success, and where everyone feels empowered to bring their full, best selves to work. We will not check boxes and consider it done. We will push new innovations and different ways of thinking, and treasure the community built and strengthened by each of our contributions.

Political Parity
Path to Parity
Swanee Hunt and Kerry Healey co-founded Political Parity in 2009 as a nonpartisan platform to accelerate the energies of dedicated leaders, researchers, and funders changing the face of US politics.  At that time, women made up just 18 percent of Congress and held only six governorships. Adding more women to national political office is not just a matter of representation; it’s our best chance to break the gridlock in Washington. Collectively, women bring a broad perspective to policymaking and wield a more collaborative approach than men alone.

Hunt is an expert on women in politics having conducted research, training, and consultations with women leaders in some 60 countries. She is the chair of the Washington-based Institute for Inclusive Security (including the Women Waging Peace Network) which advocates integrating women into peace processes.
In 1981, she co-founded the Hunt Alternatives Fund with her sister Helen.
The organization is focused on strengthening youth arts organizations, supporting leaders of social movements, opposing sex work, and increasing philanthropy. Based in Denver until 1997, the organization was relocated to Cambridge, Massachusetts,
in 1997, when Hunt founded WAPPP at Harvard University.
She has lectured at Harvard's business, law, divinity and education graduate schools.
Swanee Hunt was appointed in 1993 as ambassador to Austria, where she was notable for writing a weekly newspaper column and radio program.
She also organized women's conferences in Bosnia and otherwise worked to secure peace in the former Yugoslavia.
She is active in Democratic politics (in contrast to most others in the Hunt family, who have historically supported Republican and conservative causes) and, in addition to fundraising events for candidates, she convened Unconventional Women, a six-hour program featuring more than 20 female political leaders for an audience of 3000 in Denver during the 2008 Democratic National Convention.

The Hunt Family Tree Influencer
Haroldson Lafayette Hunt Jr. (February 17, 1889 – November 29, 1974), known throughout his life as H. L. Hunt, was a Texas oil tycoon and Republican political activist.
By trading poker winnings for oil rights, he ultimately secured title to much of the East Texas Oil Field, one of the world's largest oil deposits.
From it and his other acquisitions, he accrued a fortune that was among the world's largest; at the time of his death, he was reputed to have the highest net worth of any individual in the world.

Hunt had fifteen children by three wives.
He married Lyda Bunker of Lake Village, Arkansas in November 1914, and remained married to her until her death in 1955. [4]
His seven children by her were:
Margaret (1915-2007), Haroldson ("Hassie," 1917-2005),
Caroline (1923–2018), Lyda (born and died in 1925),
Nelson Bunker (1926-2014),
William Herbert (1929), and
Lamar (1932-2006).
Their home on White Rock Lake in Dallas was styled after Mount Vernon though much larger. His first son, Hassie, who was expected to succeed him in control of the family business, was lobotomized in response to increasingly erratic behavior.
He outlived his father. Lamar founded the American Football League and created the Super Bowl, drawing on the assistance of his children in selecting the game's name.
Two other children, Herbert and Bunker, are famous for their purchasing much of the world's silver, in an attempt to corner the market. They ultimately owned more silver than any government in the world, before their scheme was discovered and undone. Bunker Hunt was briefly one of the wealthiest men in the world, having discovered and taken title to the Libyan oil fields, before Muammar Gaddafi nationalized the properties.

While still married to Lyda, H. L. Hunt is said to have married Frania Tye of Tampa, Florida in November 1925, using the name Franklin Hunt. Frania claimed to have discovered the bigamous nature of her marriage in 1934, and in a legal settlement in 1941,
Hunt created trust funds for each of their four children and she signed a document stipulating that no legal marriage between them had ever existed. About the same time, she briefly married then divorced Hunt's employee, John Lee, taking the last name Lee for herself and her four children.[5] Her four children by Hunt were:
Howard (born 1926),
Haroldina (1928),
Helen (1930), and
Hugh ("Hue," 1934).
Frania Tye Lee died in 2002.[6]

Hunt supported and had children by Ruth Ray of Shreveport, Louisiana, whom he met when she was a secretary in his Shreveport office. They married in 1957 after the death of Hunt's wife Lyda. His four children by her were:
Ray (born 1943),
June (1944),
Helen (1949), and
Swanee (1950).[7]
His youngest son, Ray Lee, ultimately inherited the business, and was a major supporter of President George W. Bush.

A scandal emerged in 1975, after his death, when it was discovered that he had had a hidden bigamous relationship, with his second wife living in New York.[8] Nonetheless, Hunt was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dallas, and was a major financial contributor toward the establishment of the conservative Christian evangelical Criswell College in Dallas, Texas.

H. L. Hunt died, aged 85, in Dallas, Texas, and was buried in the Sparkman-Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery there.

Women’s Support Project WSP Lobby Abolicionista

The Women’s Support Project views prostitution as part of the spectrum of men’s violence against women and is committed to raising awareness of its root causes and harmful impacts, both on those directly involved and on our wider culture.

Women become involved in prostitution for a variety of reasons such as homelessness, child sexual abuse, mental ill health, trauma, previous sexual violence, drug and alcohol misuse, money pressures and poverty.  These factors, which serve to lead or force women into prostitution, should not be mistaken for the cause of prostitution itself, which is the demand from men to buy sex.  If men were not prepared to buy sex, then prostitution would not work as a survival behaviour.

Once the factors behind women’s involvement in prostitution are understood it makes no sense to label prostitution as work or legitimate employment – to do so would legitimise exploitation.  Neither, if we accept prostitution as exploitation, is it fair to criminalise those who are abused and exploited – in what other area of ‘violence against women’ would we criminalise the victims?

We do not view prostitution as a choice for women, irrespective of age, and believe that it is contradictory to condemn child prostitution whilst condoning or ignoring adult prostitution. Neither do we recognise the false distinctions between forced and so-called ‘free’ prostitution. All prostitution is exploitative of the person prostituted, regardless of the context, or whether that person is said to have consented to the prostitution.

World Without Exploitation Lobby Abolicionista
World Without Exploitation isn’t just a campaign – it’s a community of organizations and individuals who share a vision and seek to leverage our unique skills and different backgrounds in the fight to end human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
History shows us that lasting social and legal change occurs when many people – often very different people – come together on behalf of a shared goal. We may not always agree on tactics or solutions, but we do agree passionately on the importance of debate, dialogue, and finding common ground in order to create political and cultural change. That’s why we’re committed to engaging people from a broad range of disciplines and sectors in our fight for an exploitation-free world.
World Without Exploitation was founded in 2016 by Coalition Against Trafficking in Women,National Organization for Women/New York State, Sanctuary for Families, and The Voices and Faces Project.

https://www.worldwithoutexploitation.org/vision
  • We understand that we won’t end sexual exploitation until we end the demand for prostitution. As long as there is a global sex trade, ours will be an unsafe, unjust world.
